Front Page News

Jessica | March 2, 2009

We visited “New Orleans style” restaurant Front Page News this weekend at its Moreland Ave location. As a native Louisianian, I’m always a little wary of cajun-, creole-, or Louisiana-themed restaurants outside of the state, but I’d been passing this particular place for a while and finally decided to check it out. We had the Shrimp & Grits

and the Pasta Carbonara

Both, sadly, were underwhelming.

They lacked the kick expected of a Southern dish, or any dish for that matter. Even after dousing my pasta in hot sauce I felt I needed to call Emeril to add some “BAM!”. Mario quipped that he should have just ordered the cheeseburger. Front Page News may work as a hangout spot (lots of flat screens, decent drink menu), but as a restaurant, it fell a little short.
