Quattro

Jessica | April 24, 2009

After checking out the Dogwood Festival for our first time (after being in Atlanta for 5 years…we know!!), we stopped by Piedmont-parkside pizza place Quattro.

It was a really gorgeous afternoon, so we chose to sat on the spacious patio right on Piedmont Ave, along with the majority of the other patrons. Other than a few loud neighbors, the ambiance was nice, and we got to people-watch on Piedmont. Mario, being true to form, ordered a pepperoni pizza, and I tried the Barbacoa, a BBQ chicken pizza. Our waiter was kind enough to ask if I wanted the red onions, which I didn’t. Very thoughtful!

Both pizzas looked really good when they came out, and the taste was no disappointment. The feta and Parmesan on the Barbacoa were really fresh and flavorful, and Mario said the same about the cheeses on his pepperoni pizza. The crust–the real tell for a pizza–was good also, though a little chewy. I thought the barbecue sauce on my pizza could have either been spread better or thicker, because it seemed like it was only around the outer edge of the pizza.

We enjoyed our time on Quattro’s patio, and while the waitstaff wasn’t especially attentive, they were nice and got our food out to us in a reasonable amount of time. We might stop in next time we take a walk around the park.
