The chicken and sausage gumbo is way better than the seafood. Also, get a plate like the shrimp basket or the catfish with mornay sauce and sutffed potato on side. I went to Dempsey's tonight and it was spectacular. Also the boudin balls are very good. The special of Jambalaya and catfish is very good as well, not sure what day they have this special but it is worth going for. Smothered chicken special is very good too. Pretty much any days special is great. I have been going here for years and it is definitely in my top 5 places to eat in BR. You should try again and get different things.
