After visiting Oscar's a few more times, I can definitely agree that they're a little heavy handed with the oil/grease. I do like their creative toppings though.

Pizza is hard to judge for "best" because there are so many different elements on which people can judge (crust, sauce, toppings, etc.). Fleur de Lis has such a huge following for a reason, I just thought my visit was only OK. But maybe I just like my pizza more "Italian style"...if you're ever in Atlanta, visit Antico Pizza!

Thanks for reading and commenting!

I have been a loyal customer for years, their pizza (in my opinion) tops any other in Baton Rouge, including LPK, rotolos, and definitely Oscar's (I have never consumed so much grease in my life). They have more traditional toppings, nothing fancy, no chicken or spinach, no white sauce, no wheat crust, but what makes the difference is that every morning, employees that have been there for 20+ years come in early and make all of the ingredients from scratch... And they do it with love. I've been a pizza addict all my life, and it took me a while to find this place, but I've found nothing that compares. If you're looking for fancy chain pizza, look elsewhere. I go to fleur de lis for the experience and the outstanding pizza, and I will continue to do so!
